Curved Glass

Runcorn Glass & Bending specialise in the manufacture of bespoke curved glass. We can manufacture curved glass to pretty much any radius and our curved glass comes in either annealed, laminated, toughened, toughened/laminated and double glazed, to suit your requirements. Typical applications for our curved glass include curved shop fronts, curved windows, curved glass balustrades and bespoke shower screens. We have the in-house capability to bend and process glass up to 3m x 4m.

The chart below shows examples of the types of curved glass we can manufacturer.

Curved Glass

Bend A – Curves which are bent to a given radius one way of the pane only, which applies to the whole length or width of the pane, and not to one part only. The depth of bend not to exceed one-eighth of the length of the bent side of pane.
Bend B – Curves which are bent more than one-eighth, but not to exceed the quarter of a circle, or about 1 in 5.5.
Bend C – For the same as B, but a part flat, the flat part not to exceed one-third of the bent dimension.
Bend D – For flat curves, with one part flat, the depth of the bent part not to exceed 1 in 12, and flat part one-half.
Bend E – For curves, the bent part not less than 150mm radius, and not to exceed the quarter of a circle, with flat part to exceed one-third, but not to exceed two-thirds.
Bend F – Curves which are bent beyond the quarter of a circle, but not to exceed 1 in 4.
Bend G – Curves similar to D, the depth of bent part not to exceed 1 in 12, and the flat to exceed one-half, but not to exceed three-fourths.
Bend H – For angular curves viz: flat-parts on each side, the centres not to exceed a quarter of a circle, and the flat part one-fourth of the sides bent.
Bend J – For ogee curves, depth not to exceed 1 in 16.
Bend K – Similar to E, with flat part to exceed two-thirds, but not to exceed five-sixths.
Bend L – For angle curves (radius not less than 150mm), the centre not to exceed the quarter circle, and the flat to exceed one-fourth, but not to exceed three-fourths.
Bend M – Curves which are bent beyond 1 in 4 but not to exceed the half-circle (diameter not less than 300mm)
Bend N – Curves for double bends for circular dome lights, where the number of openings is not less than 12.
Bend O – Curves for oval light openings, not less than 16.
Bend P – Curves for circles for domes depth not to exceed 1 in 8.
Bend Q – Curves beyond the half-circle with equal straight parts on each side, the flat not to exceed one-fourth, and diameter not less than 300mm
Bend R – Curves for ellipses not less than 300mm diameter, or 150mm depth of bend.
Bend S – Curves not to exceed the quarter circle at each side (depth of bend not less than 150mm), the bent part not less than one-third, and the flat not more than two-thirds.
Bend T – Curves similar to N, but the number of openings from 6 to 12.
Bend U – Curves similar to O, but the number of openings from 8 to 16.
